German chamomile can be used to help sooth a sore stomach and as a gentle sleep aid. It can be taken as a herbal tea, two teaspoons of dried flower per cup of tea. Chamomile is sometimes known as "the plant doctor" because it is thought to help the growth and health of many other plants, especially ones that produce essential oils. It is thought to increase production of those oils, making certain herbs, like mints (spearmint, sage, oregano) and basil stronger in scent and flavor.

Chamomile tea is also thought to be useful to suppress fungal growth, for example, misting it over seedlings may prevent the disease damping off.

{planting information}
Lifecycle: annual
Sunlight: full to part sun
Zone: 3-9
Height: 8-18"
Bloomtime: mid-spring, late-spring, early summer
Special notes: seeds require light for germination, seeds prefer cool germination temperatures

{how to plant}
Chamomile seeds need light to germinate. Simply sprinkle the tiny seeds on the ground in fall or early spring. Chamomile prefers cooler germination temperatures. Growing too late in the season may prevent seed from germinating. Chamomile grows easily and once established will freely self-seed in unmulched beds.

Seeds are packaged in 100% recycled, 20% post-consumer waste brown kraft envelopes. Thank you for recycling again.
